Tucked away in an established Cottonwood Heights neighborhood with a great view of the mountains, was this small 420 square foot garage, full of oil stains and cracks from the 30 years of foundation movement.
The entire home was going through a big transformation and update; the exterior was going to be covered in tones of gray which led to the Astoria color in our Platinum Granite Epoxy Floor Coating product.
As eluded to above, the floor was over 30 years old, and full of stains and cracks. Our industrial diamond grinder removed most of the oil stains (the machine typically removes enough concrete material to provide a perfectly clean slate for an epoxy garage floor coating). The cracks were hand-ground smooth in order to level out the rift, and various epoxy crack-repairing products were applied to provide a filler and a proper bond to alleviate the damage. The final step is to sand and grind the repair epoxy – this levels out the surface and hides the imperfections incredibly well.
After a few days work, the new epoxy garage floor coatings provided an end result that renewed a woodshop / garage. The new coating brightened the space, looked great and provided a work surface that is now much easier to clean and maintain.
Looking at this floor, I'm thinking how could you not want this done?
